I think that “Hello, World” text is among one of most commonly used titles for the first post on programmer’s blogs. But there’s a good reason for that. Most of us usually started our programmer’s adventure with that phrase. And if we start learning programming with “Hello world” program, why wouldn’t we start blogging the same way?
I’ve been thinking about starting my own blog since at least a couple of years. Until now, the closest I’ve been to doing that was when I bought a domain and hosting. I even installed WordPress, but… I haven’t written even a single blog post. I had too many excuses: “I have no time!”, “No one will read my blog!”, “I have nothing to write about!”, “I spend 8 hours at job every day, so I don’t have time for writing!”, and so on.
So my domain remained unused, and the time passed by.
Fortunately, more and more often I ran across articles or YouTube videos about blogging – how can you benefit from that, not only as a programmer, but also as a human. And what’s even better, how you can help others while doing so. I realized there will never be a perfect time to start a blog – the best moment to take action is today.
